Volcane Spins
Volcane Spins is one of those games that explains itself in about four seconds and then quietly eats your evening. You control a glowing disc that spins around a central core, and your job is to flick it through gaps in rotating rings before heat builds up and the whole screen starts to shake. Tap to reverse your spin direction, hold to slow down. That's the entire control scheme, and it's enough.
What makes it click is the rhythm. The rings speed up as the volcano gets angrier, and the background slowly fills with orange cracks, so you feel the pressure before the game ever tells you about it. I kept dying at the same ring for a while, then something clicked and I cleared six levels in one go. That jump from frustration to flow is the good stuff.
It's not a huge game and it doesn't pretend to be. Sessions run two or three minutes, which makes it perfect for a bus ride. The art is clean, the sound design is weirdly satisfying, and there's no clutter on screen. If you want something twitchy and honest, this is an easy recommendation.
